Grants and Funding Project

The Victoria Daly shire has recently secured more than $4,000,000 in grants for capital works.

Funding towards capital improvements in the Shire include:

$728,000 for security measures at Port Keats Airport from the Regional Airports Funding Program, Australian Airports Association.

$2,693,000 from the Federal Government 'Roads to Recovery' program (over 5 years) towards the upgrade and repair of the local roads.

$271,000 under the Regional and Local Community Infrastructure Program (RLCIP) the Australian Government towards:

New Steam Display at Pine Creek $90,000. Park for exhibition of the steam display and the relocation of those exhibits from their current location.

Nackeroo Lookout Area Upgrade at Timber Creek $110,000. Upgrade of the Nackeroo Lookout area, including construction of ablution facilities, commission and installation of interpretive signage and signage to minimise environmental damage.

Refurbishment of Family Centre Kitchen at Kalkarindji $71,000

$385,000 from Urban Enhancement Program, Infrastructure Strategy Unit, Department of Planning and Infrastructure, Northern Territory Government.

Projects

Wadeye Main Street Development $275,000.

  •  Landscape, install playground equipment to Lot 537 at Manthape subdivision.
  •  Construct a new park and playground to the Nilihn subdivision.
  •  Construct a small area for a playground area in Jogmin Street near Lots 401 and 402.
  •  Construct new park area in Yemelgum Street.
  •  Landscape area around Council office and park furniture to main street.

Pine Creek Beautification $110,000.

  • Continue extention of recycle water irrigation main to irrigate the water garden area.
  • Landscape area in Main Terrace to include Steam Museum .
  • Additional park furniture to Main Terrace.
